Sex at the Olympics? Who would have known? But we would, if we’d thought about it – of course there are sexual olympics at the Olympics. To service them, condoms will be as abundantly available as Big Macs in the Olympic Village. And they have their own sponsor. British manufacturer, Durex, will be making tens of thousands available for free to the athletes.
In Beijing, the condoms even carried that Games’ Olympic motto: “Faster, Higher, Stronger”! Apparently, once the athletes have finished competing in their sport, they have ‘days of glory’ partying and hooking up in the Village, known for its raucous scenes.
At the Sydney Olympics, they ran out, despite there being 70,000 on hand. However, it’s not just that they were used up in marathon sex sessions, many athletes took armfuls back home as free souvenirs.
Jagger was “sexually obsessed” with Bowie
Talking of sexual athletes, according to an ‘explosive’ new book, Mick: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Mick Jagger by Christopher Anderson (Robson Press), Jagger quickly went from being an unattractive, acned 19 year old to a wild, bisexual lothario once he joined the Rolling Stones. He allegedly bedded fellow Stones’ bandsmen Brian Jones and guitarist Mick Taylor as well as the bands then manager Andrew Loog Oldham – often in threesomes and no-holds-barred orgies. “A real Kings Road queen,” quipped Keith Richards. Other men apparently included American beat poet, Allen Ginsberg and British MP, Tom Driberg.
His steamiest male involvement, the book asserts, was with the then openly bisexual rock star, David Bowie. Ava Cherry, a back up singer, reportedly told a friend, “Mick and David were sexually obsessed with each other. Even though I was in bed with them many times, I ended up just watching.”
And Mick was a cross-dresser – openly wearing make up and women’s clothes. His stage moves were ‘a coquettish striptease’ and they were based on his attempt to impersonate an idol of his, Marilyn Monroe.
There were also a string of affairs with women, some high profile, like Chrissie Shrimpton, Marianne Faithfull and Jerry Hall, some groupies. Often he would bed a different one every night and often he would be running several together.
It seems that the cross-dressing, sex-obsessed, bisexual, pop star, character ‘Turner’, that he played in Nic Roeg’s 1968 film “Performance”, may have been all too revealing of the real Mick.
Sex Ed Set Back
Finally, in another set-back for much-needed ‘tell-it-like-it-is’ sex education in, Channel 4 have withdrawn their film for schools, “Living and Growing”, after Schools Minister Nick Gibb called it “shocking” and like a “blue movie”.
One sequence, aimed at eight year olds, shows a naked, cartoon couple, having fun in the bedroom before having sex. Similar ‘getting sex out of the closet’ materials in Dutch schools have significantly helped reduce the spread of STDs amongst teenagers and radically reduced the incidence of underage pregnancy. Sex ed teachers are naturally “disappointed”.
