The Cliterati Team believe that safe sex is important. However, some of the fantasies on the site do include unsafe sex. While we urge you to practice safer sex, some people fantasise about condom-free sex and we don't wish to censor. However, if contributing stories, please use protection as far as possible. It helps increase positive attitudes to condom use so you can help decrease STI rates while sharing your fantasy. (You can help support people with cancer through fantasy by buying Ultimate Burlesque
and Ultimate Decadence: erotica anthologies with all profits going to Macmillan Cancer Support.)
On a similar note, some of the fantasies on the site would be foolish to attempt in real life. Please bear in mind that this is fantasy, not reality and that safe sex is important to protect yourself from all manner of nastiness: picking up strangers can be fraught with risk; BDSM activites should only be entered into once the requisite guidelines are understood; and, generally, if you want to have fun, it's worth using your brain as well as your body to keep yourself safe. The more we share good sex education and habits, the better sex will be for everyone.

Artcore: ArtWank!
ArtWank! exists to educate, entertain and enliven through the hidden history of erotic cinema, progressive comedy and cabaret performance. Created by Cliterati Artcore editor, Ophelia Bitz, it has a unique archive of smutty movies from the 1890s to the 1970s l and for the first time ever now also have an original score, composed by Michael Roulston and Sarah-Louise Young for the world premiere of their all-killer-no-filler whistle-stop tour of the annuls of smut and the impact of pornography.
ArtWank! will be taking part in the Edinburgh Fringe this year, as part of PBH’s Free Fringe, at the beautiful Voodoo Rooms,. It will be FREE to come and see the unique show. They want to be as accessible as possible, and, frankly, the Free Fringe offers Artwank! the only financially viable way to take part in the world’s largest arts festival. They will be giving 21 performances, one of which will have a British Sign Language Interpreter, with the intention of bringing their work to new audiences, to contributing to the growing cabaret scene in Edinburgh, and with the hope of attracting touring and production opportunities.
They will also be conducting several research sessions at the Fringe to give you the chance to give your views on the state of smut today, with the intention of writing a book combining their existing research, the stories of the sex industry professionals they have collaborated with and cutting-edge opinion and action.
They are currently trying to crowdsource funding for their Edinburgh show with a fantastic campaign video was shot by the awesome Alex Sufit. Show your support for ArtWank here.
