Hot Release: Inside My Love by Delilah

Inside My Love is a lush electronic landscape of breathy vocals and, er, promised orgasms, with boxer-busting lyrics such as “You can see inside me/ Will you come inside me?/ Do you wanna ride me?” leaving very littleto the imagination (except perhaps the invention of X-Ray glasses).

However, to dismiss this overt sexuality as mere marketing ploy would do injustice to singer-songwriter Delilah (real name Paloma Stoecker), as she’s actually been making waves in the dance world for some time now, co-writing tracks with acts such as Wretch 32, Plan B and Chase and Status (whose well-received song ‘Time’ she also sang on). Stoeker’s also known to use respected electronic music producers such as Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard to remix her own work.

Delilah sampled Chaka Khan’s ‘Ain’t Nobody’ in her hit single ‘Go’ in 2011, and released free download mixtape ‘2am-4am’ earlier this year, so it seems only natural that she would steal her most recent inspiration from another dance classic – that of Jean Jacques Smoothie’s 2001 ‘2 People’ (which in turn sampled the original ‘Inside My Love’ by ‘70s singer-squeakstress Minnie Riperton).

Cliterati may well prefer the original version, but Delilah’s latest incarnation of ‘Inside My Love’ still manages to spear the Hot straight into this week’s Hot Release – and the accompanying video shows exactly why!

Inside My Love is released 15th July.
