Toy Review: Secret Vibrator

Secret-Vibrator

The Secret Vibrator is a luxurious clitoral vibrator, available exclusively to Sh! Women’s Erotic Emporium, an an award-winning women’s sex shop that’s dedicated to female pleasure. It’s clear from the performance of the Secret Vibrator that their dedication has paid off, because the Secret certainly manages to tick all of our pleasure boxes.

From it’s small and compact size, to the easy touch remote and attractive presentation, there is so much that’s right about the Secret. The egg style vibrator can only be described as cute. Measuring just 1.5 inches in length, it’s easy to hold between your fingertips. The sweet purple silicone vibrator has a slight curve in the tip too for maximum contact with this smallest of pleasure zones and let us let you in on a secret of our own: although it’s advertised for clitoral pleasure, this little vibe is also the perfect size for nipple and perineum stimulation. Just avoid inserting internally as there is no removal cord, only the wire. Pull on that too hard or too often and you’ll do some serious damage.

There are 20 vibrating functions to enjoy and experiment with. Choose from low, medium and high constant buzzing, or a plethora of ascending, revving, pulsating and throbbing settings. One thing to note if you’re a power hungry player, is after 3-4 minutes on a high speed the motor does heat up and this can be felt through the silicone. Don’t fret, it’s not like it gets so hot it’s going to melt or anything, but just be aware so you don’t risk doing any damage to the toy, or yourself if you’re particularly sensitive. It might be wise after a minute or two of fast and furious to switch to a more leisurely setting. Varying the speed like this during masturbation with a clit vibe can be good practise anyway, because if you’re anything like me, too long on a super fast setting and you start to feel desensitised, which makes it even harder to build up to a second or third orgasm should you choose to.

Control all of the vibration patterns of the Secret using the touch sensitive pad. A central silver button turns the Secret on and off and an upwards and downwards arrow allows you to scroll through the different settings.

What I loved about the Secret’s controller is how simple it is to change speed or vibration during play. All it takes is the lightest of touches. There’s no firm pressing for three seconds or more, or two handed squishing of stiff buttons. It’s really responsive. No bigger than the size of your hand, it sits comfortably in your palm and it’s light too. The controller is also where the three AAA batteries are housed to power the vibrator.

Usually remote controlled toys that are connected with a wire really annoy me, mostly for aesthetic reasons. I think it makes them look fussy, then the wires are usually too long so they get tangled, or bent, or they’re coated in some garish colour and the cheap plastic feels crappy and detracts from the toy. It’s almost like what to do with the wire is an after thought for many manufacturers rather than realising this is still part of the product.

Thankfully this is not the case with the Secret, where the wire is just long enough to fit over the top of the duvet (so you’re not trying to navigate the controls blind), but not so long it gets easily tangled. The plain white coating is both attractive and smooth, so maintains the high-quality look of the vibrator.

Secret-2_smThe Secret is presented in a chic, plain black satin lined box, so would make the perfect sexy gift. As there are no markings on the box it works as a storage case for your Secret and no one would be any the wiser as to what’s inside.

Without doubt, the Secret has to be one of the most attractive, accessible and effective clitoral vibrators we’ve tried for a long time.

The Secret Vibrator costs £35 and is available from Sh! Women’s Store
