News: UK Performers Put Arses on the Line to Fight New Porn Regs

First it was facesitting… now UK performers are literally putting their arses on the line to fight the UK porn laws.

“For every £10 raised, we will take one HARD cane stroke.” that’s the promise made by Pandora Blake and Nimue Allen on their uniquely kinky indiegogo campaign.

Pandora and Nimue are porn producers and performers who make ethical fetish porn – much of which was banned in December when regulations regarding video on demand pornography were changed. Now the acts they enjoy (and make a living from!) could land them in court.

Never ones to take a nonconsensual punishment, Pandora and Nimue decided to fight back. They’ve teamed up to raise money for the UK charity Backlash, which is seeking tochallenge the regressive porn laws.

Every £10 raised through their indiegogo campaign equates to one hard cane stroke on the bare bottom, and the whole session will be filmed and released for free online.

ATVOD (the Authority for regulating Television On Demand) has had no end of headaches since 1 December, when the regressive laws on online pornography came into force. Acts which could now be censored from porn include:

“female ejaculation, facesitting, fisting, watersports, breath play, age play, trampling, full bondage with gags, and spanking and caning that leaves marks or welts.”

Before Christmas porn producers and freespeech advocates held a protest outside parliament that included a mass facesitting, to highlight how ridiculous it was to criminalise consensual sex acts. Now it’s time for the spanking enthusiasts, as Pandora and Nimue vow that they won’t take censorship lying down: they’ll fight it bending over.

As well as buying more cane strokes, donors also receive one of a highly unusual set of rewards – from getting their names mentioned in the porn film that will eventually be released, to a spanking date with the performers themselves.

This isn’t the first time either performer has spoken out about the laws. In a YouTube video released earlier this week, Pandora Blake explained why the laws disproportionately affect kinky, queer and fetish porn producers.

“These laws don’t just affect my business, they criminalise my sexuality and my identity as a kinky woman. My love of spanking has been with me my whole life and I don’t think I should be ashamed of it. I believe I have the right to freedom of expression and that includes consensual kink.”

Many have pointed out that the law will only affect UKbased performers – caning, face-sitting, trampling, and female ejaculation produced abroad will not be subject to ATVOD’s scrutiny. But, as Nimue explains, this not only makes a mockery of the aim of the new rules, it also disproportionately harms UKbased businesses:

“I am not in a position to up and move out of the UK. I can’t ask my partner to suddenly move away from her friends and family, to leave her job and move to a country where she doesn’t speak the language. My only options are: to stay here and keep doing what I’m doing, knowing that until the legislation gets repealed, I’m taking a risk; or give up everything I’ve worked so hard to achieve, and shut my website down only months after relaunching it. So I’ve decided to fight. But fighting isn’t going to be easy.”

The indiegogo campaign is running until 31 January but unsurprisingly, they have already achieved over £1000 double their funding target – which equates to 100 cane strokes. They’re now recruiting more bottoms to help share the pain.
