The city of Leeds is gearing up for the UK’s newest, most glamorous and most exciting arts event when it hosts its first ever Erotica Festival.
Spanning four days over the Halloween weekend 2008 and hosted at various venues across the city, the Leeds Erotica Festival will include a huge programme of exciting events ranging from the thought provoking, to the educational and eye-opening, right through to the down right dirty.
Organiser Amy Minns said: “The Leeds Erotica Festival will be a celebration of sexuality, sex and the beauty of the human body. We plan to use the arts to break down the stigmas associated with sex and erotica.”
Festival events will include art exhibitions, cinema screenings, book readings, performance, a programme of fascinating and eye-opening workshops from experts in burlesque, bondage, nude photography, writing erotic literature and much more.
The highlight of the weekend may prove to be when the festival brings the biggest and most glamorous Burlesque and Cabaret night of the North to Leeds for an unmissable Saturday night of glitz and saucy glamour.
The Festival will climax with a stunning, sumptuous and highly sexual Masquerade Ball on Halloween night which promises to be the most exclusive, highly charged and the most erotic night of masked Halloween debauchery Leeds has ever seen.
“The festival will provide such a range of frisks and frolics it will appeal to everyone who likes sex! By the time Leeds Erotica Festival has hit the North even the most British of visitors will be happy to admit their kinks to whoever is listening!” concluded Amy.
The festival are currently looking for artists and writers who would like to submit their work to be included in the festival art exhibition, popular art competition and short story writing competition. For more information please contact amy@leedserotica.org.uk
