Learn how to be a poker queen

The infamous Gash Girls will be offering lessons on how to be a Poker Queen at their eponymous monthly parties at the Ivory. The new "Casino Night" Classes will be introduced for the first time at the Gash Girls Party on Wednesday 13th September and will be taught by Lizzie Rowe, a long standing croupier at a Sheffield Casino. An experienced poker player herself, Lizzie says: "It has been proven that women have a big advantage if they sit down at a poker table because men automatically underestimate them. Women are very good at reading people, which makes them naturally good poker players."

Business owner Julia Gash took the decision to introduce Casino Nights to the Gash Girls Parties in response to the increased profile of gambling in Britain. She says: "Women love the glamour associated with casinos but feel excluded from what they perceive to be a man's world. We wanted to give women the opportunity to learn how to play cards with skill and confidence and to teach them how to avoid the pitfalls of gambling addiction. As such, Casino Nights, which will be a key feature of the monthly parties and will be a fun educational experience, no gambling for money will be allowed."

Lizzie Rowe adds: "It's very empowering to sit down at a poker table and take men on at their own game and win. This is why I¹m delighted that Gash has invited me to teach women how to become a Poker Queen."

Established for almost four years as a unique, women-only social event in Sheffield, The Gash Girls Party provides retail therapy at the Gash mini store, pampering treats are on offer throughout the evening as too is free sex and relationship advice. On September 13th women will also be taught the art of Argentinean Tango and get a chance to fire their love troubles in a "Ask The Gash Girls" Question and Answer session. The first fifty women to attend receive a Gash Girls Goody Bag. Entrance is free.
